ADAPTATION DRAWINGS:

10 Works on Paper
2015-2018

“These drawings used the scientific process of evolution as the starting point for an extended series of works. Each piece was structured around the push and pull of natural selection through an orchestrated sequence of marks and erasures. The process of repeatedly drawing and removing imagined creatures (or ‘constructions’) looped until the paper ran the risk of tearing, at which point the surface was either concluded or scrubbed down and crossed out to imply extinction.

The resulting pieces are overworked (drawn over multiple years) and overwhelmed by the tedious cycle of development.”
