The Monument is a painting of an invented architectural form. The structure was devised through the hybridization of a ziggurat, a video game temple (World of Warcraft, 2004), and a modern day factory. The painting’s companion piece, Splash, depicts a catastrophic flood. Both projects were made in response to observed rituals and behaviors of online communities.
