HOMEBOUND (2020-2021)
53 Pen and Ink Drawings
“Homebound began as a drawing exercise during the COVID19 pandemic. The project had two initial goals. The first was to establish a weekly routine (or chore) to artificially provoke distraction. The second was to attempt to overcome a period of writers block, or creative stall. Each piece was produced through the random generation of simple geometric shapes in addition to prompts that specified location and degrees of manipulation (for example, to mirror a form on the opposite side of the page).
While the set of drawings was never intended as an artwork, the project now functions as a complex record of time, and a study on the lure of structure.”
